LONG LIVE THE DEFENDERS OF THE LIBYAN SOCIALIST JAMAHIRYA

Long live Abdullah Senussi and Saif Al Islam Gaddafi!

For all their mistakes increasing amount of Libyans nevertheless see them and the former Libyan Jamahirya as a massively successful pro-people society building project and compared to now a verticals golden age.

Senussi is still flown out by the pro nato forces from his cell to help intervene in disputes amongst Libyans! Saif is a well respected asset for those who are holding him, without which the Zintanis are nothing in Libya.

It's no surprise that those who have helped nato plunge Libya into this raping, looting, collapsed state mess, those who took up arms in alliance with nato would send the defenders of the formerly beautiful Libyan Jamahirya to death.

Those who gave life to Libya and beyond are sentenced to death, while those who have brought nothing but misery and trauma in Libya and beyond are the 'Arab spring revolutionaries'.

There is a complex internal struggle in Libya to orient Libya back towards that legacy, but those process like other processes (Tunisia, Syria, Somalia, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq etc) will only see some meaningful successes once Russia and China and its regional allies (especially Egypt and Iran) are united in a concerted push back project against the neo-colonial supremacist death squads.

SYRIZA: THE EURO IMPERIALIST ROLLER-COASTER, BIG HIGHS, LOW NAUSEA

'Europe' Isn't Designed To Save Greece and Europeans

Sukant Chandan

Mon 13 July 2015

#‎Greece‬, where are we now?: What was ‪#‎Syriza‬'s plan from day one? Did it have a viable plan? Firstly, one must look beyond the delusions, fanciful flights and fantasies that people, understandably desperate on the one hand for a push back in europe, projected onto Syriza. A week ago the western/westernised left were making out that Syriza were the new Bolshevik revolution in europe, now they are dumping them hard and fast. Silly, but to be expected. The english left have tried to bask in reflected glory in Syriza of their own ridiculous bankrupt left strategy, which is Jeremy Corbyn for labour leadership and the colonial left 'peoples assembly'. Or is it russell brand talking about and obsessed with 'boobies' & misogyny and owen jones criticising the establishment while the establishment promotes him THE strategy? Like Syriza, the english left, like Podemos in spain are all about their own crumbs from colonial loot, they will never spit on African and Asian people in torturous fire in our Homelands created directly by their own imperialist states, but will throw a hissy fit cos their imperialist-given living standards are relatively slightly hit.

Syriza's plan from day one was to plead and beg with their european masters that they are europeans, so they should be treated more nicely / less harshly. What was their plan to put force to that strategy? basically none. The referendum was supposed to up Syriza's relative power in negotiations, but referendums, mass protests, conferences, paper sales, strikes are not enough to shift things, you need a global strategy, and an iron will that incrementally delinks you from the imperialists, and you go towards the BRICS etc who will not dictate politics to you, not least push intolerable policies on your population. The actually existing model for this is the Scottish National Party (see herehere and here).

Syriza are now being punished for even trying (and failing) to tinker with the troika (EU, ECB and IMF) diktat, and ironically it was the USA and less so France that have been the relative strategic allies of Syriza! So why haven't Syriza reached out seriously to the Brics, Global South etc? Cos ON PRINCIPLE they think they can up their survival game WITHIN the confines of imperialist europe. Why did they think they could do this? Cos they are politically nearly totally vested in 'europe', being the extremely naive middle class western lefties they are and remain until now, Syriza's leadership thought europeans could treat europeans nicely cos they are all europeans (something Pilger and others have spelled out well).

This has been put in the dustbin by those running 'europe', while Greece will not see a Nato 'no fly zone' war of aggression, while Greece will not see Nato proliferating death squads, 'while Greece will not see their leadership raped, slaughtered and lynched on tv and newspapers for days, europe' has nonetheless told Greece you are not *really* fully european (read: 'human') 'like us', thanks for trying, but we are going to punish you for even trying to make out 'another europe is possible'.

Syriza now have to deliver a massive austerity package which is actually a total punishment for Greece, that surrenders their economy to the enemy in return of a promise that Greece will never engage with the Global South (source). Indeed Syriza have tried to show 'europe' that they are not playing some covert plan with Russia and China, so much so that Syriza have made it clear that they will renege on the China deal Piraeus port deal! (see here)

Syriza delivering the european diktat to Greece is going to and starting to lead to even more Greek domestic turmoil, there is no way the Greek people will accept such a situation when Syriza put their hopes sky high to only bring them back deeper into the gutter.

What should be the attitude of anti-imperialist people outside Greece? Imho, I would say echoing our 'latin' American leadership on Syriza: We are with you in your FIGHT! STRUGGLE! RESIST! But Syriza leadership have utterly ignored our comrades in Cono Sur, they have no Plan B, they want to stay put, there is no fight and resistance. Our attitude should be to encourage the fight, but its hard when there just isnt a fight. What exactly is there to support here?? There is NO PUSH BACK. In all honesty, I think we just have to observe this mess, clearly and without creating more colonial confusion strive to understand what forces Syriza actually is instead of wishful thinking and perhaps something new from within Syriza or outside, or another combination of forces will emerge that refuse to stay within the euro imperialist vice-grip, and WANT TO fight to 'grexit' this mess and build a functional life-giving bridge to the Global South.

Greece of late has been perhaps the second big test as to the future of the european imperialist periphery. The first has and continues to be Scotland, all going more or less fine and good there. Greece comparatively is a real roller-coaster which, through illusions, raised the Greeks high, and is now plunging and making everyone quite sick. The bottom line is that a radical force within europe has to be strategically oriented in a anti-european ie., anti-imperialist direction that with confidence and steely determination makes gradual but sure preparations of joining our global family of support, rather than staying in this cesspit of genocide, white supremacy, and neocolonialism.

SPEECH BY CHINESE AMBASSADOR TO ERITREA

Remarks by Ambassador Qiu Xuejun at the Reception for Eritrean Friends from Various Social Sectors

From Chinese Embassy in The State of Eritrea

2015/06/18
By Qiu Xuejun
Chinese Ambassador to the State of Eritrea
June 17,2015, Asmara, Eritrea

Eritrean Friends from various social sectors,
Chinese faculty members and Eritrean students at the Confucius Institute,
Members of Chinese Medical Team to Eritrea,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good evening.Welcome to the reception held for Eritrean friends from various social sectors. This is the first time for the Chinese Embassy in the State of Eritrea to host such a reception specially for representatives of Eritrean friends from all walks of life who are interested in and care for the development of China-Eritrea relations.

When I first set my foot on the land of Eritrea, breathing the fresh air of Asmara, strolling on streets full of flowers every where, enjoying the magnificent clouds of different formations in the sky, I felt so relaxed and happy not only because of the pleasant environment, but also the hospitality and friendship of the people of Eritrea towards Chinese people. When I came across with the lovely and smiling Eritrean kids on the streets, they often came to me and extended hands to me greeting loudly "China, China" or "Nihao". By seeing such warm and friendly faces and smiles, I have no doubt that they will be the torch carriers of China-Eritrea friendship. This friendship is not established and enhanced in a single day. Some present here today are from government agencies of Eritrea, some are from non-governmental sectors, some are Eritrean medical doctors and students who have been working closely with their Chinese Colleagues of Chinese Medical Team and Chinese teachers of Confucius Institute. As a Chinese saying goes, all the persons of virtue are here this evening. The fact that we can enjoy such a friendly relationship and so fruitful cooperation between China and Eritrea is the result of the hard work and the enthusiastic participation of the people like you present here today. It is the support of Eritrean friends from all walks of life that makes the foundation of China-Eritrea friendship as solid as rock.

In fact our bilateral exchanges can be dated back two thousand years ago. When the traffic was inconvenient and the two countries are separated by thousands of miles, our two peoples started to interact with each other. In 100 AD , the Messengers from the ancient Eritrean port city of Adulis reached Luoyang, the Capital City of China's Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220 AD) across the Silk Road. It is the earliest contact recorded in the history of exchanges between our two peoples, and the Adulis Messengers were the earliest envoys from African countries to visit China. China's porcelains were shipped to Adulis through the maritime silk road. For example, a pot exhibited in Northern Red Sea Region Museum was excavated in Adulis. Four Chinese characters engraved on the pot tell us that the pot is from China. I have another interesting story to share with you. Du Huan, the Chinese traveler in Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) once traveled to West Asia and North Africa, then returned to China from Massawa Port. Some of you have been to China for scholarship and training programs or just a visit. Mr.Mohamed Salih Husen, the composer of "The Song of China-Eritrea Friendship" and Mr.Omar Ali, the head of Rakuba band are their representatives. You are today's Adulis Messengers and the Chinese people working in Eritrea are today's Du Huan.

Please allow me to brief you the latest development of the China-Eritrean relations.

The Chinese Vice-foreign Minister Zhang Ming visited Eritrea in January, and cosigned with Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh Mohammed a visa exemption agreement for the holders of diplomatic and service passports, providing convenience for the exchange of official visits between our two countries. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our colleagues from the Foreign Ministry and the Immigration Office of Eritrea for their hard work on the signing and implementation of this agreement. Mr. Hagos Gebrehiwet, Head of PFDJ Economic Affairs Department and Mr.Berhane Habtemariam, Minister of Fiance, visited China in March. These official visits at high level between our two countries have added a new impetus to the development of our bilateral relations.

The Chinese government aided project of College of Science, Eritrean Institute of Technology has been formally launched at the end of last year, and the construction of this project is moving forward smoothly. This is the largest aid project that the Chinese government has implemented in Eritrea since the establishment of diplomatic ties between our two countries. The Solar Power Drip Irrigation Project in Southern Region donated by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China was completed by Xinjiang Tianye Company early this year. The project uses advanced technologies and yields good results. The project will play an exemplary role in exploring modern agriculture and increasing agricultural production of Eritrea. Three schools aided by the Chinese government in Asmara, Mendefera and Gindae respectively have improved local school conditions and are playing an important role for local educational causes. The Chinese companies and workers have not only completed in constructing these projects with good quality, but also helped training the local workers, and gained respect and friendship from the Eritrea people.

Health sector is an important part in the field of pragmatic cooperation. Since sending its first medical team to Eritrea in September 1997, China has successively dispatched 8 medical teams of 150 person times to Eritrea as of today. The Chinese medical doctors have been working here for 18 years, and have treated and cured numerous patients and kept pain and suffering away from them. A female interpreter of Chinese Medical Team gave her life in a traffic accident, and was buried in Eritrea forever. she will be forever missed and remembered by both Chinese and Eritrean peoples. Many Eritrean medical doctors and patients have become good friends of the Chinese medical doctors. The eighth Chinese Medical Team to Eritrea will soon accomplish its mission in July, and the ninth medical team will take its turn. Members of the eighth Chinese Medical Team are here with us today, we wish them a pleasant trip back home, and hope that they will continue to care for and contribute to the development of China-Eritrea relations. China and Eritrea will continue to strengthen the cooperation in medical and health area.

We have ripped fruitful results in the fields of education and culture. The Chinese Ministry of Education has trained Eritrean talents through offering Chinese government scholarships. In addition, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce also provides Eritrea with a number of short-term training and degree education opportunities in China. Talents are the core element of national development. The Eritreans who have gone to China for studying and training have made positive contributions to national construction of Eritrea and China-Eritrea friendship after returning home upon completion of their study and training. Since the Confucius Institute at National Commission for Higher Education was established in June of 2013, Chinese language program has been developing very rapidly, many Eritrean students registered to study Chinese language and made good progress in mastering the language. The Confucius Institute held successfully two sessions of the "Chinese Bridge Competition" in the past two years. In this process, many returned Eritrean students from China helped and participated in the activities organized by the Confucius Institute using their talents of music and Chinese language, contributed a lot to the development and growth of the Confucius Institute. In a few minutes, students of the Institute will show a little artistic talent of learning Chinese language and culture, let's patiently wait for their colorful performance.

There are more cultural exchanges to talk about. For example, since 2011 the Chinese Embassy has participated in the Book Fair held in Asmara Expo every year, and donated books to Eritrean readers. In April, the Chinese State Administration of Press and Publication, Radio, Film and Television signed agreement with Eri-TV, donating films and television programs. We hope these programs will be enjoyed by the Eritrean viewers and enhance the understanding between our two peoples. Three Eritrean painters who are also among us today will attend the 6th Beijing International Art Biennale held in this autumn with their art works, congratulations!

These achievements did not come by themselves, but are result of the help and support rendered by all the Eritrean friends present and not present here. The selfless help you have provided to the Chinese Embassy, Chinese medical team, the Confucius Institute and the Chinese enterprises, and all that has been done to promote China-Eritrea friendship will be remembered in our hearts. On behalf of the Chinese Embassy as well as the Chinese community in Eritrea, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the friends who care for and support China-Eritrea friendship and cooperation.

May I offer a toast,

To the further enhancement of friendship between our two peoples,

To the health of our friends! Cheers!

ERIC FONER's NEW BOOK ON THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD

Eric Foner Revisits Myths of the Underground Railroad

“I dreaded the approach of summer, when snakes and slaveholders made their appearance,” wrote Harriet Jacobs, author, educator, servant, mother of two — and escaped slave.

Jacobs had fled from Edenton, N.C., to get away from the attentions of the father of a little girl who “owned” her. These had persisted even after she had two children by another white man (and a member of Congress), so she “hid in a small crawl space above her free grandmother’s kitchen in the town” for seven years, as Eric Foner informs us in his illuminating new history, “Gateway to Freedom.” Eventually, passage north was secured on a ship with a “friendly captain,” and Jacobs settled in New York City. But as an escaped slave, she was never really secure anywhere in the United States, especially after passage of the Fugitive Slave Act, part of the Compromise of 1850. When, after 10 years of freedom, she learned that her owner “was making preparations to have me caught,” she fled again, to Boston, where abolitionist feeling was higher than in New York, which had long been debased by bigotry and the dollar into more pro-Southern sympathies.

It may seem difficult to believe that slave owners and hired slave catchers prowled the streets of Manhattan before the Civil War, openly carrying whips, pistols and manacles in order to reclaim their “property,” but such was the case. They “entered black churches during Sabbath services looking for runaways, and broke into blacks’ homes and carried them off without legal proceeding,” Foner tells us. Fugitive slaves in the city, wrote the Southern-born abolitionist Sarah Grimké, were “hunted like a partridge on the mountain.”

Unsurprisingly, the men who would make their living in this way were not terribly scrupulous about just which black face they decided to seize upon. Once the slave trade from Africa was banned in 1808, and as slavery in the North was slowly wound down, “an epidemic of kidnapping of free blacks, especially children,” occurred all over the Northeast. After the new federal statute of 1850 was passed, Foner writes, “the abolitionist William P. Powell departed for England with his wife and seven children, although no member of the family had ever been a slave.”

The 1850 law — supported by some of the most illustrious figures in congressional history, and hailed as vital for preserving the Union — was particularly odious. It rendered null and void the longstanding state “personal liberty” laws that had been used to declare runaway slaves free in the past, and provided “severe civil and criminal penalties for anyone who harbored fugitive slaves or interfered with their capture.” Special commissioners were given the final say on all fugitives, along with a financial incentive — $10 a head! — to decide in favor of the slave catchers. Federal marshals could deputize anyone they wished or “call on the assistance of local officials and even bystanders” to help in apprehending suspected runaways.

In other words, the new law would corrupt all citizens into aiding and abetting America’s great moral crime. But as Foner explains, fugitive slave laws were part of the warp and woof of the country from the very beginning, dating back to the 17th century in colonial New York. The Northwest Ordinance of July 1787 held that slaves “may be lawfully reclaimed” from free states and territories, and soon after, a fugitive slave clause — Article IV, Section 2 — was woven into the Constitution at the insistence of the Southern delegates, leading South Carolina’s Charles C. Pinckney to boast, “We have obtained a right to recover our slaves in whatever part of America they may take refuge, which is a right we had not before.”

Resistance to this sprang up in societies for manumission, and sometimes for the “colonization” of freed slaves back to Africa. But as it became clear that slavery was not going to die the natural death that had been devoutly wished for, “vigilance” and antislavery committees were set up. They came to form the Underground Railroad, a loose network of black and white individuals intent on actively helping slaves gain freedom (only in Canada was it truly secure) and evade recapture.

Foner, who as one of our leading historians has written or edited 24 books, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning “The Fiery Trial: Abraham Lincoln and American Slavery,” does a superb job of focusing the story of the Underground Railroad on a human level. He makes vivid the incredible risks and hardships so many slaves were willing to endure for their freedom, and how much it meant to them. They came by ship and by train, by horse and foot; by ways however arduous and ingenious. One William Jordan, it was reported, lived for 10 months in the woods, “surrounded by bears, wildcats, snakes, etc.” — although he “feared nothing but man.” Henry (Box) Brown had himself packed into a box three feet long, and shipped from Richmond to Philadelphia. The journey took almost 24 hours and nearly killed him, but according to eyewitness accounts, he stepped out of the box “with a face radiant with joy,” and began to sing a “hymn of praise.”

Foner also performs an invaluable service in restoring the record of liberated blacks who helped their fellow African-Americans to freedom. Here are, among many others, not only the legendary Harriet Tubman — who more than lives up to the legend — but also Louis Napoleon, an illiterate porter and window washer who “was credited with having helped over 3,000 fugitives escape from bondage”; the indefatigable David Ruggles, a freeborn black man who specialized in plucking slaves off ships in New York Harbor; and the anonymous crowds of free blacks, men and women, who rushed again and again to rescue fugitive slaves in violent street battles. On one occasion in Pennsylvania, they even killed a slave owner.

The penalties for whites helping the Underground Railroad could be severe, including mob assaults, tar-and-featherings, the destruction of their careers, lengthy prison sentences and even the fatwa that the parish of East Feliciana, La., put on the head of the white abolitionist Arthur Tappan, offering the immense sum of $50,000 for his “delivery.” But none of it equaled what blacks stood to lose if caught down South trying to free their brothers and sisters. They were not deterred. “I shall have the consolation to know that I had done some good to my people,” Tubman replied when asked by a white abolitionist how she would feel if she were to be caught and put back into slavery.

Pitted against white mobs, hostile magistrates, policemen eager to claim rewards and the nearly demonic persistence of slaveholders looking to reclaim their property, the little band of men and women who ran the Underground Railroad were able to rescue “somewhere between 1,000 and 5,000 per year between 1830 and 1860.” Although this was a small number set against a total slave population approaching four million, such resistance, as Foner shows, was able to leverage the greater prize. The Underground Railroad infuriated the South, providing “the immediate catalyst” for the Fugitive Slave Act, which became in turn “a source of deep resentment in much of the North,” when armed ruffians started showing up in Northern towns and cities to drag away people’s friends and neighbors. The South, The New York Times noted in 1859, had made “the doctrine of state rights, so long slavery’s friend, . . . its foe,” poisoning relations between the sections until, as Foner concludes in this invaluable addition to our history, “the fugitive slave issue played a crucial role in bringing about the Civil War.”

ECUADORIAN PRES SAYS LIKE BELARUS, ECUADOR IS OPPRESSED BY iMPERIALISM

Belta News Agency

The mankind should be grateful to Belarus for its contribution to the victory in World War II, Ecuador President Rafael Correa said in an interview with the World View program on the RTR Belarus TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus is a heroic nation. Here, in Latin America, people know little about World War II, about the role of Soviet republics in achieving the victory over fascism. These were not Americans, as they usually show in films, but the Red Army who entered Berlin. Hitler's crash began when he started a war against the Soviet Union. I know that Minsk was one of the most heroic cities. The mankind owes a lot to Belarus,” Rafael Correa said.

According to the Ecuador President, it is strange that certain countries impose sanctions against Belarus taking into account the contribution of Belarus to the victory in World War II. “They also issue unilateral reports on human rights on Ecuador. Imagine, they talk about the human rights in spite of Guantanamo, tortures and murders. We are concerned about this because we fully observe human rights and the freedom of opinions,” he said.

Rafael Correa also said that Ecuador is now in the middle of a difficult situation, which is the intervention of the U.S. radical right-wing groups aiming to destabilize the nation. This can also be seen in Venezuela, Bolivia and Argentina. “These include numerous reports of the Department of State, all sorts of accusations, speculations of those who consider themselves the masters of the world. These include the intervention of the American mass media, the disinformation campaign, radical right-wing groups from the opposition aiming to destabilize the government of Ecuador,” the President of Ecuador explained.

Correa: President should be close and sincere with people

MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – Closeness to people and sincerity are the pillars of the president's work, Ecuador President Rafael Correa said in an interview with the World View program on RTR Belarus TV channel, BelTA has learned.

The closeness to people gave me the people's support and helped our government to stay in power for eight years, Rafael Correa said.

The Ecuador president also noted that his country and Latin America should learn a lot from Belarus, from its history. For example, the Gini coefficient is the most commonly used measure of inequality. The Gini coefficient is 0.26 in Belarus, 0.44 in Latin America. It means that our country has a higher level of inequality than Belarus. Ecuador is committed to creating a just society,” Rafael Correa said.

He added that Ecuador has made big progress in ensuring equality. But it is still needed to do a lot to create a fair country with equal opportunities.

Rafael Correa also extended his best wishes to the Belarusian people and wished success in the forthcoming election to the Belarusian President.

ECUADOR & BELARUS TO MAKE THEIR OWN DRONES; CORREA SAY THEY NEED THEIR OWN HELICOPTER MAKING FACTORIES

Belarus, Ecuador to produce UAVs together

Belta News Agency

Belarus and Ecuador will produce unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) together, Ecuador President Rafael Correa said in an interview with the World View program on RTR Belarus TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“We design and produce the first Ecuadorean engines together with Belarus. We need to buy Mi helicopters. Instead of buying them, we could set up our own factory. All the more so because these helicopters are used by many countries in our region. At least, we need a training and maintenance center. We have already agreed to assemble unmanned aerial vehicles with Belarus,” Rafael Correa said.

In his words, Ecuador needs scientific projects and production technologies. Belarus can help Ecuador by not only selling freight vehicles but also by setting up a plant here. “Apart from that, Belarus helps us in many fields of strategic importance such as electrical grids, geological and oil exploration,” the President of Ecuador noted.

For example, Belorusneft and the Ecuadorean state-run company Petroamazonas take part in the exploration of oil deposits. If the results are successful, we will start oil production. “We have never had problems with Belorusneft so far, and are very glad that such an influential Belarusian enterprise is working in our country,” Rafael Correa stressed.

The same cannot be said about the American oil extracting company Chevron which oil mining made colossal damage to Ecuador in the previous decade. However, now the company denies its responsibility.

VENEZUELAN PRES MADURO BACKS REPARATIONS FOR 'AFRICAN HOLOCAUST'

Maduro Demands Europe Pay Reparations over 'African Holocaust'

Telesur

Maduro expressed his support for the Caribbean nations seeking reparations from former colonial power.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro expressed support for the Caribbean call for reparations from their former colonial powers, in an address to the country on Wednesday.

Maduro expressed his support for those 15 Caribbean nations seeking reparations from former slave-trading nations, including the U.K., France, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

"Our brothers from the Caribbean Community and Petrocaribe have raised their voice to demand Europe for one of the greatest holocausts in history--the African--during which 50 million women and men of our African grandparents were kidnapped from their land, from their roots, to be brought to America as slaves,” Maduro said. “Europe must indemnify the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean for the African holocaust."

The call for reparations came after the Venezuelan President paid tribute to the independence fighter Pedro Camejo, the only Black military officer who fought against the Spanish in the independence army of Simon Bolivar.

In his public address, Maduro recognized the contribution of African descendents in the independence struggle and reminded that Camejo is part of Venezuelan national identity and a symbol of the nation.

"The Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Goncalves is breaking the paradigms of our peoples, bringing a just demand to Europe," the President said referring to the Caribbean Reparatory Justice Program. The program of demands includes development projects to fight back poverty, cultural exchanges between the Caribbean and west Africa, improvements in education, and medical assistance.

More contentiously, it seeks official apologies from the former colonial countries, who have so far been silent on enslaving black people during the 17th and 18th centuries.

The plan is designed for the "structural decolonization and the reconciliation of the countries of the Caribbean with the former colonial powers, responsible for the enslavement of African people, indigenous genocide and apartheid policies during emancipation."

HISTORIC DEVELOPMENT OF PAKISTAN AND INDIA JOINING SHANGHAI COOPERATION ORGANISATION

India and Pakistan join Eurasian club

[source]

The Shanghai Co-operation Organisation has embarked on a big enlargement process that could transform the club that includes China, Russia and four central Asian countries into a security and economic grouping stretching from eastern Europe to southeast Asia.

SCO leaders decided on Friday to admit India and Pakistan as members and made Belarus an observer — a status that could eventually be upgraded to membership.

They expressed support for Iran’s application for membership once Tehran reaches a deal on its nuclear programme with international powers, indicating that the procedure towards membership could begin as early as next year.

In addition, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia and Nepal were made “dialogue partners”, a looser form of association with the group, which focuses on jointly fighting security threats such as terrorism and also aims for closer ties in trade, education and scientific research.

The expansion marks a big diplomatic achievement for President Vladimir Putin of Russia, who hosted the summit in the southern Urals city of Ufa, as it allows him to demonstrate that western sanctions have failed to isolate Moscow internationally.

It also creates a forum for security talks and economic integration spanning a vast geographic area in which neither the US nor the EU has substantial influence, but which includes several countries of global strategic significance.

The development comes as Moscow is pushing for a new international security order. Mr Putin has said that the principles laid down in the Helsinki Accords, a cold war-era agreement designed to ensure security and prevent conflict in Europe, have been disregarded in the process of Nato enlargement and US hegemony. Some Russian officials have toyed with the idea of a new Eurasian security architecture and believe that the SCO could play a role in this.

“This summit opens a new stage in SCO development,” said Mr Putin. Cheng Guoping, China’s deputy foreign minister, said the expanding SCO was set to “play a growing global role”.

The SCO was founded in 2001 for the primary purpose of settling border issues between China and its central Asian neighbours. But since most of these have been settled, it has evolved to focus on common security threats as well as efforts to develop the lagging economies of central Asia.

Pressure for enlargement has come mainly from Russia and from China, while the group’s central Asian members have been more cautious.

Islam Karimov, president of Uzbekistan, which takes over the SCO presidency from Russia after the summit, emphasised that the group must not under any circumstances change into a military bloc against any other group or country. He also urged the group to address its smaller members’ concerns that the inclusion of India and Pakistan would change the internal balance of power.

Narendra Modi, India’s prime minister, and his Pakistani counterpart, Nawaz Sharif, held talks on the sidelines of the summit for the first time for more than a year, amid continued tensions on the border of the two nuclear powers.

The SCO is also set to become the platform for negotiating China’s and Russia’s partly competing regional economic integration projects. Group members are expected to negotiate common positions on how to implement the Silk Road Economic Belt, a Chinese plan to develop central Asia through massive infrastructure projects linking it to Europe.

China and Russia agreed to co-ordinate this plan with the Eurasian Economic Union, a common market created by Russia.

ALGERIA: MASSIVE STEP FORWARD IN MOVING AWAY FROM fRENCH DEPENDENCY - CHINA IS NOW NUMBER ONE TRADING PARTNER

Level of Strategic Partnership Between Algeria, China Hailed

All Africa

Chinese ambassador to Algiers Yang Yuanggu welcomed Saturday in Algiers the level of "strategic partnership" between the two countries, stressing that China is Algeria's "first economic partner" and will work to preserve this place.

During a press conference at the headquarters of the Chinese Embassy in Algiers, Yuanggu said that Algeria and China are "linked by a strategic partnership" that concerns the political, economic, scientific, tourism and cultural fields.

Algeria and China had a trade volume estimated at $8.3 billion in 2014.

Chinese ambassador also welcomed the visit paid by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal to China last April, during which the two countries agreed to work for the revival "of an industrial partnership."

He stressed that the Chinese party gives particular importance to the transfer of knowledge and technology to Algeria, noting that all partnership agreements concluded in the last three decades contained clauses on technology transfer.

In addition to the projects already completed or under construction by Chinese companies, several projects are being discussed between the two countries especially in the fields of industry, agriculture, tourism and renewable energies.

China has been the largest supplier of Algeria during the five first months of 2015, according to a report of the National Center for Informatics and Statistics of Customs (CNIS).

The report said China's exports to Algeria hit 785 million U.S. dollars from January to May.

Algeria's total imports in May reached 4.53 billion dollars, compared to 5.54 billion a year earlier.

China has replace France as the largest supplier of Algeria for two last years with more than eight billion dollars.

China and Algeria raised their bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in February, 2014, the first of its kind among China's relationship with Arab countries.

CHINA SUPPORTS ALGERIA's LEADERSHIP IN NORTH AFRICA, AND BOTH SAY THEY RELY ON EACH OTHER

China hails Algeria's efforts to settle conflicts in Mali, Libya

ALGIERS, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Algeria Yang Guangyu has lauded the North African country's mediation to settle the ongoing conflicts in neighboring Mali and Libya, stressing China has been backing such moves.

The convergence of views of China and Algeria regarding international and regional issues is based on both countries' commitment to "the principles of non-interference in the internal affairs of others and non-use of force to settle conflicts," Yang told a press conference on Saturday night.

Beijing and Algiers "know that one can count on the support of the other," the Chinese diplomat said.

He highlighted the deeply-rooted relations binding the two countries, pointing out to recent visits made by top officials from both sides.

China and Algeria announced the comprehensive strategic partnership in February 2014 on the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of strategic cooperation between the two countries.

ALGERIA REFUSES TO BE A BASE FOR IMPERIALIST DRONES

EU also made the same request to Morocco and Tunisia in order to monitor the movement of boats transferring illegal migrants or drugs to France, Italy and Spain

Algeria has recently refused a request by the European Union (E.U.) to host an airbase for unmanned reconnaissance drones that can track down boats carrying illegal migrants through the Mediterranean Sea, an Algerian diplomat said Sunday.

"A few days ago, Algerian authorities turned down a request by the E.U. to build on its territory an airbase for drones that can track down the movement of illegal human traffickers," the diplomat told Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity.

"The E.U. also made the same request to Morocco and Tunisia in order to monitor the movement of boats transferring illegal migrants or drugs to France, Italy and Spain," the diplomat added.

He went on to say that technical studies regarding the appropriate location of the airbase showed that a number of sites could work, including ones in Algeria, Tunisia, and the island of Malta.

"European countries have asked the Maghreb countries for further cooperation to resist the phenomenon of illegal migration in hazardous conditions which lead to mass-drowning," the diplomat said.

Around 1,750 migrants died in the Mediterranean since the beginning of 2015, a 30-fold increase over the same period last year, according to the International Organization for Migration.

ALGERIA HITS BACK AT NEOCOLONIAL PRESSURE AND INTERFERENCE

Algeria calls on Europe to respect its sovereignty

[source]

Algeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ramtane Lamamra, on Friday described EU comments on human rights issues in his country as "interference" and demanded "mutual respect," Algeria Press Service reported.

"If there is a sub-culture that allows interference in the affairs of justice in some countries, it is not part of our culture in Algeria", Lamamra said at a press briefing after the 9th session of the Algeria-EU Association Council.

Lamamra emphasised the importance of mutual respect between his country and the EU and urged the EU to respect his country's national sovereignty.

Lamamra said. "We have clarified things and insist on two principles: mutual respect and balance of interests."

Regarding the general partnership with the EU, the minister said there were still several elements that must be improved, while others must be changed. He said it is time for the European side "to change their attitudes towards Algeria."

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Lamamra and Federica Mogherini, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, signed a protocol of the Association Agreement enabling Algeria's participation in 20 Euro-Mediterranean programmes; they include Horizon 2020 and Creative Europe.

The Press Service said that both officials also signed a memorandum of understanding concerning the single support framework for the period 2014‑2017.

This defines three priority sectors of intervention for the EU in Algeria: justice reform and strengthening of citizen participation in public life, labour market reform and job creation and support for the management and diversification of the economy.

Algeria demands more from association agreement with EU

[source]

Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra has said that it is time for the Algeria-EU association agreement to be revised because it is only beneficial to the European Union.

Times have changed since the agreement was concluded 10 years and “Algeria gave more than it received” under the partnership, argued Lamamra.

The minister was speaking at a press conference in Brussels at the end of the 9th meeting of the Algeria-EU Association Council which focused on political and economic dialogue between the two partners. He said “an assessment is imperative” in order to make the association agreement a mutually beneficial accord.

Lamamra said circumstances are no longer the same in Algeria or Europe and “adjustments” will assure that “Algeria’s interests are taken into account.”

E.U. diplomacy chief Federica Mogherini has reportedly expressed interest in developing the Union’s partnership with Algeria.

Despite Algeria’s request for the association agreement to be reviewed, it signed a master funding agreement of €140 million destined to finance projects in the sectors of justice, employment and actions to diversify its economy.

A Single Support Framework ranging from 2014 to 2017 will support justice, citizen participation, diversification of the economy and job creation reforms with a budget between €121 and €140 million.

Lamamra applauded the gesture undertaken part of the association agreement partnership since the country, he said, “is facing some problems induced by the sharp fall of oil prices.” It will also “reinforce in a very tangible manner cooperation between Algeria and the European Union,” he said.

Lamamra stressed however that the EU should not interfere in his country’s judicial affairs and called for a European attitude change more respectful of Algeria’s sovereignty.

FASCINATING ARTICLE AS TO NEOCOLONIAL DESIGNS IN THE CONFLICT IN SINAI, EGYPT

Sinai Attacks: Killing the Beast

“We are not in the aftermath of the so called Arab Spring, Egypt and the rest of the Arab countries are deeply engulfed in a real war”

Dr. Ashraf Ezzat – Egypt.

The scale and ferocity of the recent militant attacks against the Egyptian army in North Sinai, swiftly following the (successful) assassination of Egypt’s general prosecutor, are underscoring an obvious fact; Egypt still has a long way to go in its war against terrorism.

Another growing discourse amongst Egyptian intellectuals doubts the heavy handed security could be the only solution to the current escalation of violence and terrorism. Islamist terrorism will continue to thrive if the ideology behind it is not checked and corrected, the argument goes.

It’s not only Egypt that faces this threat, but the whole Middle Eastern countries; the Arabic ones that is. But All Arabs, not only Egyptians, could survive the chaos and devastation that ensued in the aftermath of the so called Arab Spring. But they could not and will not allow this devastation and destruction to engulf the heart of the Arab world, Egypt.

This implicit consensus is why Egypt (headed by el Sisi) is being fully backed by most of the Arab countries especially the Arab Gulf countries (except the Zionist emirate of Qatar with its [Al Jazeera news channel] that has long been battering Egypt with its disgraceful and unprofessional hype)
On Wednesday July 1st, Islamist militants unleashed a wave of simultaneous attacks against Egyptian army checkpoints in El-Arish, Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah, the last three small towns before we hit the border with Gaza and Israel (I worked there as a medical doctor for almost three years back in 1997). The coordinated assaults set off the fiercest clashes in decades in Northern Sinai.

When it comes to reporting the death toll and the number of the wounded, the reports of the main stream media were conflicting and varied considerably. Whereas most of the reports talked about a range from 60 – 100 killed and more than 120 wounded, the official report of the Egyptian army only mentioned 17 military personnel killed (4 of them officers) and 30 wounded.

Interestingly, Aljazeera Arabic News channel was the only mainstream media platform that had exclusively reported the attacks (LIVE) as the fighting and the bombing were taking place.

The reporter with the camera crew stood few meters away from the border with Rafah (Eastern Rafah is in the Gaza territory) and broke the news of the deadly attacks as the black thick plumes of smoke were still gathering on the horizon. In Egypt, we knew about the attacks 45 minutes after the start of the bombings.

Obviously Al Jazeera had been tipped off (by some clandestine operatives in Gaza) hours before the attacks occurred. Egyptian security authorities have frequently accused Hamas of harboring Islamist militants and MB fugitives implicated in funding and training the insurgents.

On its official facebook page (Egyptians are very active on social media since the 2011 revolution) the Egyptian Military spokesman stated that around one hundred Islamist militants have been killed in the counter offensive (this video presenting animated brief account of the attacks has been released by the Egyptian Army)

Regardless of the conflicting numbers and the different narratives; the recent militant attacks have undeniably revealed new worrying signals. First and foremost is the likely involvement of the native Bedouins of Sinai in the deadly attacks.

Obviously the way this wave of insurgency has been dragging with no signs of abating since the ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood leader, Mohamed Morsi, back in 2013 is begging two vital questions.

Is this wave of terrorism against Egyptians has anything to do with the Muslim Brotherhood? Second, is the Islamist insurgency in the Northen Sinai being facilitated/coordinated by the native Bedouins?
My personal sources in Sinai have repeatedly affirmed the involvement of a new and young generation of (recently radicalized) Sinai Bedouins in the attacks against Egypt army. In late 1999 before I left Sheikh Zuweid, I was amazed by the growing tide of Salafism (radical Islam) amongst the native paramedics and staff nurses of North Sinai.

The whole operation Sinai as dubbed by Egypt military has somehow turned (due to uncalculated risk of collateral damage) to a war of vengeance between some of Sinai tribes (mainly based in Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah) and the Military. This has long been seen coming and feared as the worst case scenario by some Egyptian analysts and commentators. If you ever wondered why most of the deadly operations take place in and around Sheikh Zuweid, that’s because the tribes over there are offering logistical and Intelligence help to the Islamist militants.

One more thing, Sheikh Zwueid is now the closest place to Gaza and Israel, not to mention that the whole town is connected to Gaza via a web of- yet undiscovered – deep and twisted tunnels (wide and deep enough to allow land Rovers carrying anti-craft missiles through)

Sinai and its small Bedouin community have long been bedeviled and neglected, for many centuries before Mubarak, by successive Egyptian governments. Many analysts argue that the long economical and developmental marginalization have helped morph Sinai into the hotbed for terrorism and militancy it is today.

Another analysis accuse the short period of MB rule for turning Sinai into another Afghanistan. One of the first things Morsi of the MB did as a president in office was to invite all the Al Qaeda’s militants (especially those of Arabic and Egyptian origin) to depart Kandahar (and other Taliban strongholds) and head straight to Sinai.

A previous contact and agreement with Ayman El- Zawahri (head of al Qaeda) had paved the way for this mass exodus of Islamist militants and their heavy weaponry into Sinai. This, according to the MB tactics, served as the military wing (a parallel army) that was bound to be needed if the tide turned against the MB and their new policy in Egypt.

In the past two years the responsibility for most of the Sinai attacks against the Egyptian army have been claimed by an Islamist militant group called (Ansar Bait El Maqdis). On 10 November 2014, the group has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) and changed its operational name to Wilayat Sinai (State of Sinai). An offshoot of the group which also operated in Gaza has renamed itself into the Islamic state of Gaza.

Sinai attacks and the Muslim Brotherhood

Back to our first question about the link, if any, between the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) and the terrorist insurgency in Sinai and all over Egypt. The official statements issued (in English) by the MB deny any responsibility or link of the kind and also denounce the undergoing violence and terrorism. On the other hand the Arabic statements of the top MB leaders (from behind bars) strongly assure the insurgency in Sinai and the terrorist operations all over Egypt would instantly stop was Morsi reinstated as president.

Obviously the MB is practicing a sort of bilingual hypocrisy; the trick of the wolf in sheep’s clothing is still working especially in the west. According to MB sharia law, this trick is not shunned as immoral but rather permitted as taqiya (religious deception), especially when dealing with western infidels.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian government headed by President El Sisi never bought that MB claim, not for a second. The majority of the Egyptians wholeheartedly, except for the sheep [popular Egyptian designation of MB supporters], endorse their government in pointing the finger at the MB and its international partners, financiers and supporters as the main suspects behind the ongoing unrest and terrorism. Besides many of the suspects, captured during terrorist attacks, have confessed they received funds and instructions from MB heads.

Also experts in Islamist radicalism and militancy know damn well that the literature of the MB is the root (ideological motivation) for all Islamist militancy. Based on the infamous rule of Takfir (accusation of apostasy and blasphemy) the MB theorists denounce any regime (Muslim or not) that dares operate under the rule of any law other than the strict Islamic Sharia (distorted by MB wolves)
In short MB jurisprudence have zero tolerance for ideas such as nationalism, patriotism, rule of law, democracy, women’s rights and equality, secularism and freedom of speech (even if they fooled a big chunk of the West, by means of Taqiya, into believing otherwise)

The Sinai insurgency, according to Egyptian security, has been financed and coordinated from abroad. Actually it is not a far-fetched hypothesis, considering the similar ongoing scenarios in Libya, Syria and Iraq. The so called Arab Spring has turned into a relentless redrawing of the Middle Eastern map by unleashing the beasts Arabs dreaded most; radicalism, sectarianism and Islamist militancy.

But Egyptian military experts don’t shy away from pinpointing Israel’s Mosaad as the main party to have really benefitted from (and maybe helped shaped) the current chaos and violence. Even if one or two stray rockets landed on some Israeli territory (to add to the Israeli diplomatic camouflage)
While mainstream media is talking about a recent Egyptian-Israeli co-operation in combating militancy in Sinai, the Egyptian military experts have not lost their old (patriotic) compass that always identified Israel as the perpetual enemy and threat. Let’s make no mistake about that.
The new Sinai army of Mujahideen/militants before pledging allegiance to IS had long been funded and established by Mr. Khairat el Shater, deputy head of MB clandestine organization.

Regiment 95 was the elite (Special Forces) unit responsible for tactics and special operations (MB terrorism and assassinations) that took orders and answered only to el Shater. It is said that till now el Shater, from his detention awaiting execution along with Morsi and first line MB leaders, is still giving operation orders for the infamous regiment.

Comprising the cadre of this elite regiment are 18 topnotch highly trained militants and suicide bombers. Amongst them Shadi el Menei, a native militant of North Sinai (as we pointed before) also on the list is an Egyptian militant returning from Afghanistan, Ramzy Mowafi (The personal medical doctor of Osama Bin Laden)

The Egyptian ministry of interior has declared 16 of them eliminated and captured. Surprisingly the two left are sacked (discharged for being radicalized) military officers; Hesham Ashmaoui, and Emad el Deen Ahmed.

According to leaked information, El Ashmaoui is the master mind behind most of the Sinai attacks and the major terrorist operations in Cairo and Delta (including the failed assassination attempt on the former ministry of interior back in September 2013). He is also said to have planned the assassination of Egypt’s general prosecutor, Hesham Barakat on 29 June.

Before the end of the bloody Wednesday, Egyptian special police forces stormed into an apartment in western Cairo, 6th of October city. According to the prior investigations and surveillance, there were nine MB operatives, two of them were already sentenced to death and the others are wanted for planning and funding multiple explosions and terrorist operation inside Egypt. The nine MB wanted men instantly opened fire and the Special Forces officers had to respond. The Nine MB men were killed in the apartment (Al Jazeera called the bust and the cross fire, despite the confiscated incriminating evidences and automatic gun machines, a murder in cold blood)

There is now a publication ban on the recent attack and assassination of the late Mr. Hesham Barakat, Egypt’s general prosecutor. Barakat was in charge and responsible for the legal indictment of all the top figures of the MB leadership cadre. Barakat had survived a couple of assassination attempts before he was finally killed by bombing his car convoy on his way to office last Monday. Many clues are suggesting yet another implication of el Ashmaoui in the successful assassination.

Being an old commando officer with a vast experience in Special Forces’ tactics and training, Hesham el Ashmaoui acted as the head of training and planning for the Wilayat Sinai. His record revealed he had also been to Syria in 2013 and communicated with el Baghdadi’s deputy heads (Egyptians by the way)

One of the interesting findings after the last series of attacks on Egyptian Military checkpoints in Northern Sinai is the communication method. The Islamist militants, including some of the local Bedouins, are using Israeli mobile network for their communication. In other words, the militants ‘phone calls, tweets and text messages are carried, and of course monitored by Israeli authorities.
And if we bear in mind that the whole operational theatre of Sinai is closely monitored by the Israeli military spy satellite, not to mention the distant audio surveillance, we could come to realize another glaring finding.

If there was the kind of Israeli-Egyptian military and intelligence cooperation the mainstream and alternative media are raving about, the recent Sinai attack could have easily been anticipated and even foiled.

But Israel kept a low profile, despite the IDF abundant surveillance and Intel, until the deadly attacks had achieved the target (exhausting and destabilizing Egypt and its military) and only now is Tel Aviv going to great lengths to link Hamas (and many of the Islamist cells in Gaza) to the recent Sinai attacks.

The truth of the matter is that Israel was and will remain Egypt’s perpetual enemy. The chaos and terrorism that are sweeping across the Arab world are the making of Tel Aviv and Zionist friends in the White House and in the Euro Zone. We are not in the aftermath of the so called Arab Spring, Egypt and the rest of the Arab countries are deeply engulfed in a real war.

It might be a new generation of war (Asymmetric Warfare) but it is one of the fiercest battles. For the long-term goal of this ongoing war is the reshuffling /remapping of the whole Middle-Eastern geopolitics so as to give new room for the old project of a greater Israel (bordered by a new and friendly Kurdish state)

The recent Sinai attacks won’t be the last, more and even deadlier attacks will take place not only in Sinai, but in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Tunisia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Libya. The US and Israel won’t dare finish off the so called Islamic State, for those Islamist savages have given them what they have long been searching for; wreaking havoc around Israel’s strategic territories without the risk of Israeli or American boots on the grounds.

Why mess with that efficient and lucrative new generation of warfare, it is even more efficient than drones. It seems that whoever unleashed the beast is not interested in recapturing it again, therefore if Egypt and the Arabs are to survive this mayhem they have to kill the beast themselves. There is no other way out in sight.

όχi‬ WINS IN GREECE, NOW WTF?!

‪#‎όχi‬ wins in ‪#‎Greece‬, now WTF?!

As Syriza-leader and Greek PM Tsipras said himself on last Friday in pleading with the Greek people, this No vote IS NOT a 'No' to EU membership, or the Euro, it's not even technically and strictly a rejection of austerity! It is ONLY a No to the very last austerity diktat(/negotiation round) from the EU; on that issue, we know that Tsipras sent a secret letter to the EU stating that he basically accepts 95% plus of their diktat save a few details. (source)

So what now? Things are a total muddle and nothing is clear what will happen next, there are no guarantees but for the guarantee that the Greek people's emotions and situation is really relatively increasing in desperation and their expectations are difficult to manage. Tsipras/Varoufakis/Syriza will go back to the EU and larger 'troika' (euro central bank, and imf as well as the eu) with a slight incremental increase of pressure on their side to negotiate. Does Syriza have anything new to play with in their favour with the troika? I am not sure.

On the one hand China's intervention was important in stating that although its the EU's own internal affairs, China would prefer to see the EU to stay together and Greece to stay in (source). China increasingly the leading world purse for the the benefits of itself and secondarily the GlobalSouth, but increasingly also important for sections of the 'west' too, as China is the only big global investor! But PERHAPS this nudge from China helped the EU to give a compromise last Friday by saying that Greece could possible leave the euro for a short time, a TINY amount of climbdown. (source)

In the immediate short term, Greece needs a serious and immediate injection of 'liquidity' (cash flow!) as banks run out of cash on Weds and state employees wont get paid for July. This means that Greece and Syriza are in a serious enemy-headlock with nothing in their hand to play against this.
I know a lot of the westernised left think Syriza are amazing, while as I have already said that I am on the side of Syriza between them and the troika, however, it's also important imho to be crystal clear that this Syriza are quite typically colonial left, who can seldom even get anything for the relatively exploited western people (albeit, the Greeks are still beneficiaries of imperialist loot), and unless they are led through the nose by the Global South, they always ef it all up. Syriza always, including a few minutes ago by the press conference by Varoufakis, are still desperately in love with imperialist Europe *as a neocolonial concept*, and they seem to think this hopeless love affair will somehow sweeten and/or be reciprocated by their abusive lovers in the troika.

I HOPE AND WANT TO BE PROVED WRONG, but all I see is Syriza going hard and fast into a dead end, they just have not provided ANY way forward through this profoundly complex situation, rather they have just added on the complications and confusion, and nothing they have done have shown they have any real plan to deal with any of this other than the most embarrassing of colonial lefty middle class sloganeering. Its like having colonial lefty paper sellers in charge of the whole of Greece.

The statement from our regional ALBA comrades (source) echoes the hopes of millions of people across the world who want Syriza to win, but know that they must FIGHT BRAVELY and fearlessly to fight to win, something which Syriza have not really shown so far considering their total strategy being embedded amorously with the enemy. I agree with Maduro when he said “Fear not, Greek sisters and brothers, the path forward is to break the chains of international financial capital and the IMF, to free yourselves from the yoke that tries to consume the people’s blood, the people’s labor, the wealth of countries, that is the path”.

But there is NO SIGN of them doing anything of the sort. But history is seeing things intensify, and new shoots of perhaps more ideological and organisational and global strategies are being borne, perhaps the Greeks can join in positively in that? The great danger is that Syriza cannot "save european imperialism for the benefit of the Greek working class" (source) which is a central ideological, conceptual and strategic central platform of their project, will collapse and in so doing end up doing the opposite of what Varoufakis outlined in his nonsensical praxis, which is something that Lenin called 'social imperialism', I hope Syriza and such like dont end up playing their sell out role for the Global South peoples and the Greek and 'european' peoples like their proverbial great grandfathers did in the Second International (source).

Will the western left ever break from their masters, and our (Global South) mass murderers, war mongers and genocidal maniacs? Apart from the SNP, no real sign of it since 2008. Here's hoping, praying and/or fantasising.
